News is rife with the debate on Second SRC!

Congress in alliance with TRS came to power on the promise of a separate statehood to Telangana. Congress promised the separate state on completing a formality of a consensus exercise of just TWO WEEKS and dragged the drama for two and half years. Eleven out of thirteen UPA parties, 6 out of 12 UPA’s supporters from outside and 9 out of 14 opposition parties gave in writing their support to the statehood of Telangana. Yet, congress finally declared that consensus exercise has successfully failed even after almost every political party in the country has supported in writing.
Now Congress comes forward after the Telangana peoples’ mandate in Karimnagar elections and promises statehood through a second SRC with a time frame tied to next elections in 2009.
Everybody knows what it means! Congress wants to loot Telangana!! Loot everything that is left, if any - divert Godavari waters to Krishna basin, make Hyderabad an imbroglio, fan every opposition possible to Telangana statehood, buy and weaken the separatists by wooing the MLAs and leave finally, if inevitable, Telangana in a situation that is much more miserable and crippled than what it is now.
Congress talks of every issue and admits that there are all these problems (610 GO for jobs to lakhs of Telanganites, river waters, non completion of projects in Telangana, loot of Telangana resources, etc) and promises solutions too. But, NOT NOW. It believes in action of denying and delaying. It believes in making great promises that mean just a few decibels like the historical row over what exactly was the basis of poll alliance with TRS. Time is the essence, Congress knows.
Congress wants to buy time to complete the loot of Telangana, if possible after the next elections also. Did any state that emerge anew ever had any basis and source from the first SRC? No. States that were created in past fifty years did not have any origins in the SRC! Then, why is that Congress is talking of another SRC? It is nothing but sheer nonsense, and absolutely ahistorical ! No sensible person could ever buy this crap. And why should the fate of Telangana be decided by someone from outside?
Consensus is needed for going together, but not to part. No sensible person or region wants to take others’ consent to quit. Every political party is doing their home work earnestly for a safe berth in power and thus talking big about regional development of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. Already every major political party -Congress-I, TDP etc, has four active agendas (three separate state agendas and one undivided AP agenda) and is seriously pursuing them with individual Chief Ministers identified for each separate states in the making. All political parties have convergence of interests in the delayed formation of Telangana- COMPLETE LOOT of Telangana
There was no debate on SRC for a very long time. It was non negotiable- No to SRC !
Andhra Jyothi article, Madhu Yaskhi’s article in Vaartha and several writings by Telangana groups, activists and TRS have unambiguously rejected the SRC and refused any debate on SRC.
A few writings in the media of late oscillate between the congress “medho madhanam” ’s (brain storm) reconsideration of Second SRC and a non negotiable on 2nd SRC. There are now three trends on the debate
- Pro Change- for Separate Telangana - that 2nd SRC is a baseless proposition; SRC never had any functional value in the past 50 years. It is a tool to cheat and one more attempt to fool the people demanding separate Telangana; if necessary quit seats of power any moment
- Anti change- anti Telangana - elections are after a few years thus make hay while sun shines; postpone or deny separate Telangana; take people for a ride with one more exercise and protect the interests of those who are happy without Telangana; complete the mission of looting Telangana and bargain for better trade offs for negating the separate statehood for Telangana
- Indecisive, or opportunistic - toying with ideas of something short of separate state; confused lot or those who haven’t yet decided what is correct; constraints of right people in wrong camps, etc
A few important articles on this subject are presented here for your reading and analysis. Please go through them and express your ideas, opinions and debate the issue with great enthusiasm and vigor.

Hi,
I am from Telangana and I guess, average Telanganites think that attaining Telangana state is development of Telangana region by default. But, both must be considered as seperate issues.
Lets consider both briefly.
I am not convinced about the so-called ‘telangana sentiment’. Where was it reflected. It is true that people from Telangana are unhappy about the development. Is the result of Karimnagar by-election only reflects the views of people from all other districts? I seriously think that the sentiment issue must be seriously debated across all medium. There must be an in-depth study on +ves and _ves, if the state is formed. The study must focus on all aspects - Geo-political, social, financial, security etc. Then the government must go with that report to people and ask them to opinionate, if they wanted Telangana State or not.
Secondly, Development - which always follows good vision and leadership. I am not convinced if new Telangana state can cope with that immediately. As I see now, all the invidual voices raised across all the parties are politically job/powerless ones. Every tom, dick, and harry is dreaming to be the CM for the new state. Therefore, leadership and vision = zero! Just look at all the leaders and their qualifications or backgrounds. They have no vision nor leadership qualities to lead a region. They all are simply - round the coorner piloticians.
Telangana people, oh…the common voter…
Look at the face of your leader, think if he/she is seriously committed to the cause and has the capability to achieve the result.
Look at their cadre. Yatha raja..ta tha praja…
Not just know your rights, make sure you enjoy them.
Think and vote!!
